Baby blocks to the rescue!

With the lack of a stitch counter in my possession I went in search of another way I could keep track of which stitch I was doing, and found one in my son’s toys. He was playing with his blocks when it struck me that I could use them… if I could find a “k” and a “p”…. and wouldn’t you know…

They worked great! I had them in a line beside me & just switched which one was closest to me; that one being the stitch I was working on. I used this when I was doing the first round of knit & purl stitches to make the ribbing in my adult beanie hat. Once I had that first round completed I was able to keep track of which stitch was next to do.
